Parklife

With songs like 'Girls and Boys, 'Parklife' and 'To the End' there is hit after hit in this album. If anything, the music videos that go along with them makes it all the more special. This album describes everything Britpop, the cheeky lyrics, upbeat tones and the glimpse into working class life.

The Great Escape

An interesting, experimental album, with some people claiming that it started the beginning of the end for Britpop. And even with the fun, popular songs such as 'Charmless Man' and 'Country House', the quality is indeed not as high as their prior album Parklife. The sweetest song is the at end with 'Yuko and Hiro', which about his longing for his ex-girlfriend, and Elastica frontwoman Justine Frischmann.

Blur

This album is simply the band wanting to epand into other countries, and that is what 'Song 2' did. With the Nirvana-esque style, they did gain more of an audience from America, that apparently gave them the money back they lost from the British audience. I think the reason they lost a lot of British people, is because they didn't do their usual style that had carried this country's rock style, and had actually inhabited the American rock style.

This album is way different to their last self titled one, and that was for their benefit. Beginning with 'Tender' Damon is admitting that his heart screwed up his life, to 'No Distance Left to Run' in which he is filled with resignation. This album brought hope back into the band after their last album Blur, and this record is something you can relax to.
